Spelling

Fourth Graders- Unit 15 core words they will be learning are; paper, hard, near, sentence, and better. The skill the students will be working on is suffixes. A suffix is a letter or letters added to the end of a word.

Third Graders- Unit 15 core words they will be learning are; road, blue, instead, either, and held. The skill the students will be working on is spelling patterns for /u/.

Reading

4th Graders will be reading Where the Red Fern Grows.

3rd Graders will continue reading Sarah Plain and Tall.

-We also are reading short stories. This week the students will the reading the fairy tale The Red Swan.

*Each month students should read two chapter books at home. They then write a one page summary or do a verbal summary to Miss. Libert at school.

Math-

4th Graders will be working on Unit 9- Fractions, Decimals, and Percent’s

Monday: 9.5 Conversions among Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

Monday-Thursday: The students will be learning about Climate and Seasons (What is Climate, What affects climate, and What are seasons)

Friday: The students will be learning about the Sun and Earth (Why is there day and night, Why are there seasons, What is the sun like).

*For Social Studies and Science, we will rotate them per quarter, so we can focus on one subjects material at a time (instead of dividing the time between the two each day).
