Spelling

Fourth Graders- Unit 18 core words they will be learning are; power, problem, longer, winter, and deep. The skill the students are working on is antonyms. Antonyms are words with the opposite meanings.

Third Graders- Unit 18 core words they will be learning are; young, sun, thing, whole, and hear. The skill the students are working on is homophones.

Reading

4th Graders will be reading Where the Red Fern Grows.

3rd Graders will be doing a unit of poetry.

-We also are reading short stories. This week the students will the reading the fairy tale The Red Swan.

*Each month students should read two chapter books at home. They then write a one page summary or do a verbal summary to Miss. Libert at school.

Monday-Thursday: The students will be learning about the Planets (What is our solar system, what are the inner and outer planets, and how can we view the planets).

*For Social Studies and Science, we will rotate them per quarter, so we can focus on one subjects material at a time (instead of dividing the time between the two each day).
