Spelling

Fourth Graders- Unit 14 core words they will be learning are; round, dark, past, ball, and girl. The skill the students will be working on is spelling patterns for /ou/ are ou and ow.

Third Graders- Unit 14 core words they will be learning are; soon, story, since, white, and ever. The skill the students will be working on is frequent spelling patterns for /u/ are u, oo, ew, ue, and u-consonant-e.

Reading

4th Graders will be reading Where the Red Fern Grows.

3rd Graders will continue reading Sarah Plain and Tall.

-We also are reading short stories. This week the students will the reading the fairy tale The Red Swan.

*Each month students should read two chapter books at home. They then write a one page summary or do a verbal summary to Miss. Libert at school.

Math-

4th Graders will be working on Unit 9- Fractions, Decimals, and Percent’s

Monday: 9.2 Converting “Easy” Fractions to Decimals and Percent’s

Tuesday:   9.3 Using a Calculator to Convert Fractions to Decimals

Wednesday:  9.4 Using a Calculator to Rename Fractions as Percents

Science

Monday-Tuesday: The students will be learning about weather (What is weather, how can you describe weather, how do we predict weather, and interpreting data)

Wednesday-Friday: The students will be learning about the water cycle (What are clouds, how do clouds form, what is the water cycle, what are some kinds of severe weather, and how can you stay safe in severe weather).

*For Social Studies and Science, we will rotate them per quarter, so we can focus on one subjects material at a time (instead of dividing the time between the two each day).
